Portraits for Teens, Ages 15+

Drawing and painting portraits is one of the most challenging, yet rewarding, areas of art. Do you want to improve your portrait drawing skills? Learn to properly mix skin tones with paint? Have fun and improve your portraiture skills in a fun and supportive environment? Sign up for this workshop today!

Part of learning to draw and paint a well-composed, expressive or realistic portrait is learning how to see, in addition to being taught the basic rules of portraiture.

In this one-day workshop led by Guest Art Instructor Dama Schneider, participants will learn:

-Basics of portrait drawing and correct proportions

-How to portray the essential features of a human face

-Draw realistic, expressive eyes with loads of depth

-Gain confidence in capturing a likeness - and how to fix it if you've made a mistake

-Understand how to simplify without losing realism

-How to properly mix skin tones (no more Flesh color from a tube!)

Get individualized help from two experienced art teachers while you work on your 8x10 acrylic portrait!
